Distance learning
Some of our courses can be studied online instead of coming into college on a fixed day. You work through the material at your own pace, with a tutor supporting you and marking your work as you go.
How it works
You study through e-Processor, our online learning platform provided by Learning Curve. Everything you need is on there: the course material, the assessments you have to complete, and a record of what you have done so far.
You are not on your own. A tutor is assigned to you, gives feedback on each piece of work, and is there when you get stuck. You still get an individual learning plan, an initial assessment in English and maths, and a college email address, the same as any other learner.
Who it suits
Distance learning works well if you are already in work, have caring responsibilities, or cannot reliably get to a college site on the same day each week. It asks more of you in terms of self-discipline, so we will talk it through honestly with you before you enrol rather than pushing you towards it.
What it costs
The same funding rules apply as for any other course. Many learners study free of charge. See funding and financial support.
