We treat everyone as an individual and are committed to helping all students achieve their full potential. Our comprehensive support services ensure that every adult learner, regardless of their circumstances or learning needs, can succeed in their educational journey.
At Atomix Educational Trust, we believe that every learner deserves the opportunity to succeed. Whether you're returning to education after many years, managing work and family commitments, or have specific learning needs, our dedicated support team is here to help you overcome any barriers and achieve your educational goals.
We recognise that every learner is unique, with individual strengths, challenges, and learning preferences. Our comprehensive assessment process ensures that you receive the personalised support you need to succeed in your studies.
You can request a confidential one-to-one interview and assessment of your learning needs. This comprehensive evaluation helps us understand your individual requirements, learning style, and any specific support that would benefit your studies. Our qualified assessors take time to understand your circumstances and create a personalised support plan.
If you have a learning difficulty and/or disability, we would welcome the opportunity to meet you before you start your course. This gives you the chance to discuss the type of help you need to ensure you get the most out of your learning whilst at college. Our support covers a wide range of needs including dyslexia, autism, ADHD, mental health conditions, and physical disabilities.
Based on your assessment, we create individual learning plans that outline specific support strategies, reasonable adjustments, and resources tailored to your needs. These plans are regularly reviewed and updated throughout your studies to ensure they continue to meet your evolving requirements.
Your support isn't set in stone. We regularly check in with you to ensure your support plan remains effective and adjust it as needed. Whether your needs change or you discover new challenges, our team is always ready to adapt your support to help you succeed.
Our facilities and services are designed to be accessible to all learners. We've invested significantly in ensuring that physical barriers don't prevent anyone from accessing high-quality adult education.
Most parts of our colleges are accessible to students with mobility difficulties. Our facilities include designated parking spaces close to entrances, automatic doors throughout the buildings, ramps and accessible routes, lifts to all floors, and fully accessible toilets with appropriate facilities. All our learning spaces are designed with accessibility in mind.
Our reception points are equipped with hearing loops to assist students with hearing difficulties. We can arrange British Sign Language interpreters for lessons and meetings when required. Communication support also includes note-taking services and assistive listening devices for classroom use.
Information and learning materials can be produced in alternative formats on request, including Braille, large print, high-contrast formats, and audio versions. We work with you to determine the most suitable format for your needs and ensure all course materials are accessible to you.
Our accessible facilities extend beyond classrooms to include comfortable social spaces with hot and cold drinks facilities, accessible vending machines, and water fountains at appropriate heights. Rest areas are available throughout our campuses for students who need regular breaks during their studies.
Returning to education as an adult can feel challenging, especially if it's been many years since you last studied. Our academic support services help you develop the skills and confidence you need to succeed in your chosen course.
We provide comprehensive study skills support including note-taking techniques, time management strategies, research methods, and essay writing skills. Our workshops and one-to-one sessions help you develop effective learning strategies that work for your lifestyle and learning preferences.

Our learning support team provides guidance on assignment planning, research techniques, referencing, and academic writing. We offer proofreading services and help you understand assessment criteria to maximise your academic success throughout your course.
Technology can be a powerful tool for overcoming learning barriers. We provide access to a range of assistive technologies and equipment to support students with diverse learning needs and ensure equal access to educational opportunities.

Where appropriate, we can provide loans of assistive technology equipment including digital recorders, laptop computers, ergonomic keyboards, and specialist reading equipment. Our IT support team provides training on how to use assistive technology effectively.
We provide various assessment accommodations including extra time for examinations, separate examination rooms, use of assistive technology during assessments, alternative assessment formats, and support workers where appropriate. All arrangements are made in consultation with you and relevant awarding bodies.
We don't just provide equipment – we ensure you know how to use it effectively. Our team offers training sessions, ongoing technical support, and regular reviews to ensure your assistive technology continues to meet your needs throughout your studies.
